Filipe Dantas-Torres is an EBVS Veterinary Specialist in Parasitology and holds a Master degree in Public Health, a PhD in Public Health, and a PhD in Animal Health and Zoonosis. He is the author or co-author of over 300 articles in refereed journals and 26 book chapters. He is the President of the Tropical Council for Companion Animal Parasites (TroCCAP), the Editor-in-Chief of Parasites and Vectors and one of the Directors of the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP). His main research interests include leishmaniasis and other vector-borne diseases.
