Cristina was born, raised, educated and trained in southern Chile. For nine years she worked with Chile’s Agriculture and Livestock Services (SAG) where she acquired extensive experience doing field projects. She then worked for three years at the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) in Paris in the Department of Epidemiology and Animal Health Information. She currently resides in the United States just outside of Baltimore, MD where she works as a consultant on animal health, particularly conducting Performance of the Veterinary Services (PVS) and PVS Gap Analysis missions. She also serves as an animal health moderator for ProMED. More recently, she has served as an expert on Joint External Evaluation reviews led by the PAHO/WHO, and as a facilitator with WHO IHR- OIE PVS Pathway National Bridging Workshops.
