Terdsak Yano

Dr. Terdsak Yano is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Animal Clinics, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. He earned DVM and MS degrees from Chiang Mai University in 2004 and 2010, respectively. His major responsibility is teaching and research in the Swine clinic. He teaches three swine classes, including Swine diseases, Swine clinical rotation and Swine clinical clerkship for 5th and 6th level veterinary students. His interests are Swine practice, Epidemiology, Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and GIS in Veterinary Sciences. He has researched pig health and epidemiology, especially FMD. Previously, he and his faculty colleagues conducted research about FMD in many aspects such as risk factors, the outbreak of FMD in Northern Thailand and vaccine efficacy. He also performed research on how to control Streptococcus suis infection in pigs and humans in Northern Thailand. He was one of researchers who created the PODD system, a Participatory Animal Health Digital Surveillance system that focuses on animal and human health surveillance by using digital technology and a One Health approach. That system is now managed by the PODD Center, Chiang Mai University, Thailand.
